This move has intensified speculation about Brook’s potential appointment as England’s white-ball captain, following Jos Buttler’s resignation after England’s early exit from the Champions Trophy. Brook, currently serving as vice-captain, is considered a leading candidate for the role.

England’s next white-ball series … the West Indies in June, with the announcement of the new captain expected in the coming weeks.
