New Zealand has announced its 13-member squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, set to commence on March 29. Tom Latham has been appointed as the captain for this series.
Notably, the squad features two uncapped players from Wellington: Nick Kelly and Muhammad Abbas. Kelly, a left-handed batsman, has earned his maiden call-up following an impressive domestic season, amassing over 1,300 runs across formats. Abbas, a Pakistani-origin fast bowler, has also been included, adding depth to New Zealand’s pace attack.
Several regular players, including Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, and Glenn Phillips, will miss the series due to their commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The inclusion of Kelly and Abbas underscores New Zealand’s strategy to bolster their squad depth and provide opportunities to emerging talents in international cricket.
