Mexico clinched their first CONCACAF Nations League title by defeating Panama 2-1 in the final held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Raúl Jiménez was instrumental in the victory, scoring both goals for Mexico. He opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a header assisted by Roberto Alvarado. Panama equalized at the end of the first half with a penalty converted by Adalberto Carrasquilla after a foul on Cecilio Waterman. The match remained level until stoppage time when Jiménez secured the win with a penalty in the 92nd minute.
This triumph was particularly significant for Mexico, as it ended the United States’ dominance in the tournament. The U.S. had won the previous three editions in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
In the third-place match earlier that day, Canada defeated the United States 2-1, with Jonathan David scoring the decisive goal.
