New Zealand includes uncapped duo Muhammad Abbas and Nick Kelly in ODI squad for Pakistan series.

New Zealand has announced a 13-man squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, featuring the inclusion of two uncapped Wellington players, Muhammad Abbas and Nick Kelly.

Muhammad Abbas, originally from Pakistan, moved to New Zealand with his family. He is the son of Azhar Abbas, a former first-class cricketer from Pakistan who has also represented Auckland and Wellington and currently serves as an assistant coach for the Wellington Firebirds.

Nick Kelly has been rewarded for his impressive performances in the domestic circuit, where he has scored over 1,300 runs across formats this season.

The squad will be led by Tom Latham and includes a mix of experienced players and newcomers. Notably, several regular members such as Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, and Glenn Phillips are unavailable due to their commitments in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The ODI series against Pakistan is scheduled to commence on March 29, 2025, following the completion of the T20I series between the two teams.
